THERE’S NO FAIR CATCH IN BUSINESS

Just like Tom Hanks said, “There’s no crying in baseball.”

A fair catch is a feature in American football in which a player attempting to catch a ball kicked by the opposing team is entitled to catch the ball without interference from the kicking team. Hey, it’s football season, I’m a fan, and I love making sports analogies.

The business game and rules

In business a fair catch cannot be called to eliminate any interference from creditors, investors, or anyone else while the business is developing. In addition, there are no time outs.

The restaurant business is fast paced with long, late hours and seven days per week. It would be a treat to be able to hit the pause button every now and again to recover. However, taking your eye off the ball will get you blind-sided.
